History

Originating from a small group of farming women in West Gippsland, who sought to promote their Civic Park, Warragul role as farmers, Women on Farms has gone from strength to strength offering friendship, mutual support and women’s perspectives on agriculture to other women.

A non profit organisation, Women on Farms is committed to supporting farming women through networks, meetings, farm based activities and the annual Gathering.

Women on Farms meet on the first Tuesday of each month (except for November when we meet on the second Tuesday) and visits a different farming enterprise from 10 a.m. to about 2 or 3 p.m., with some local to Warragul and some requiring further travel.

Women of all ages with an interest in farming whether large or small are welcome to attend.

Women from all farming interests are involved i.e. beef, dairy, sheep, fruit growing, goats, alpacas etc from small and large Buneep Park, Bunyipfarms.

Car pooling is encouraged. Those in the Pakenham/Garfield area can meet at Towt’s cool store, Princes Highway, Garfield. Members from other areas are encouraged to ring around to organise rides.

Occasionally we may go on a bus trip to visit something further afield.
